Introduction

I am Robert Boykin and welcome to my portfolio.

I have over 12 years of website design experience and have been developing database applications for over 3 years. I am a confident front-end UI developer and have extensive experience working with SQL Server. I enjoy what I do; its what I have been doing for most of my life. I pride myself on bringing an excellent attitude, intense dedication and a level head to every goal I achieve.

I began coding websites in 1998, at the age of 13, on Tripod.com and Freeservers.com to host online role playing games I designed for America Online users. In 2003 In high school, I lead the Clyde High School Webmastering team in developing the school's main website and also lead the Business Professionals of America (BPA) Webmastering Team to successful regional scholastic competition. I also competed on the UIL Computer Science team, in C++, for the years 2001 (district), 2002 (regional) and 2003 (state).

I graduated from the University of North Texas (UNT) College of Business in 2008 with my Bachelor of Science in Information Systems. My focus of study at UNT involved relational database theory; systems analysis and design life cycles; entrepreneurship; business management; Microsoft .Net 3.0 applications development in VB, C# and ASP; Java J2EE development with JDBC/ODBC; Oracle 9i, Access 2007, DB2 and SQL Server 2005 database administration; and SQL development. In my spare time I coded small games using the Allegro C++ development kit and built several websites for clients.

After graduation in 2008, I found my first IT job as a database programmer at The Cooper Institute. Here I assisted in the digitization of patient medical records and the secure transfer of data from the Clinic to the Institute. I designed forms for the Mi-Co(c) Mi-Forms Electronic Data Interchange and created an application to translate medical transcription data from scanned paper documents to SQL Server for reporting. All development was in VB.Net and T-SQL.

In 2010 I was contracted to develop an asset management web application prototype and a toll violation dispute application at Rent-A-Toll. All development was in ASP.Net/C# and T-SQL.

Since 2008 to the present I have stayed busy with my associates at Four Winds B ranch developing websites and web applications to deliver agricultural management tools. This is a startup project with no capital which I devote myself to in my spare time, after hours, and in between jobs. All development is in ASP.Net/C# and T-SQL.
